About Us

Spaces And Places is a little bit of real estate, design, and travel,

and a whole lot of what makes spaces and places home!

We want to share what creates and inspires home for us.  First, its our children- Sam, Andrew, and Paige (look closely and I think you will quickly see why we chose the name for this new blog). Secondly its real estate, design, travel, and places of community both locally and far away that create a sense of peace and joy that makes spaces and places home.

So, we hope you can enjoy this blog with us, and in it, we hope you find inspiration for creating your own sense of home and community as well.

Drew Ward

After working for almost fifteen years in healthcare administration, a career change was in order.   I began work in a new field- real estate.

Caught at a time where I was almost turning forty- my midlife crisis you could call it- was not turning back to what I knew.  And if you know me, you know how much not turning to the tried and true is a crisis in and of itself.

Instead, I turned to something I’d really liked to do- what I felt drawn to- but never had the time to fully devote to.  I turned first to more time with my family.  I turned to a career path that allowed more flexibility and freedom. I turned to something that allowed me to be creative, something I rarely had the time or needed to do in previous roles.  I also turned towards what I’d liked about the work I’d done in healthcare administration that involved facility and property management.  I turned towards promoting a community I love and helping others love it too.

I turned home.
