Greenwood House Reveal: Sunken Corner to Master Suite

Home » Greenwood House Reveal: Sunken Corner to Master Suite

When we bought Greenwood, it was a three bedroom, two bathroom with a traditional ranch style floorplan. Off the den and kitchen was a sunken room with lovely blue carpet as well as a porch. Both spaces lacked function and appeal. We wondered, what would people do with these spaces if they lived here?  How could we make it more like home for a family?

Remember Andrew’s original walk through?

We decided we could make the large sunken space into a bedroom and bathroom and the porch into a year round haven by adding HVAC to the space.

Of course, the floor had to rise. The utility closet for the porch became a large walk-in closet for the bedroom. Families could also have a bonus room if a fourth bedroom is not needed.

New Second Master Bath

Talk about a new master suite reveal! The bathroom now has a half bath that separates from the main portion of the bathroom with a pocket door, so it can be used for guests and as a full on-suite bath with privacy.

The porch underwent a transformation from concrete floor and falling ceiling with beautiful tile and a custom wood ceiling that ties in with the other custom woodwork in the living spaces.

Plus, it’s a great space for sock soccer!

Now, both spaces can provide flexibility and function for a family allowing for seamless entertaining and cozy places to create home.

That’s the new master suite reveal. Next up? Updated bedrooms and hall bath!
