Trip Reveal: London and Paris with Paige

Some trips feel extra special, and this is one of them. We just embarked on a long-awaited adventure with our middle child—just the three of us—exploring London and Paris together! Follow along on Instagram @spacesandplacesus.

This trip is part sightseeing, part nostalgia, and part celebration (someone is turning 11 while we’re there!). We’ll be revisiting some of my favorite places from my time living in Oxford, experiencing some iconic sights, and, of course, indulging in amazing food. Here’s a peek at our itinerary:

London: Classic Meets New Adventures

We’ll start our journey in London, landing early in the morning and diving right into the city. Whether we rent bikes or just explore on foot, the first day is all about sightseeing. We’re considering a visit to the Tower of London or taking a scenic bike ride past Buckingham Palace.

Sunday is extra special for me—we’re taking a day trip to Oxford, where I lived during college. We’ll wander through familiar streets, visit some of my old favorite spots, and soak up that classic university town charm.

Monday is dedicated to shopping, with stops at some of London’s best spots, followed by an elegant afternoon tea at The Ritz (because what’s a trip to London without a proper tea?). That night, we’ll catch The Devil Wears Prada musical in the West End—fashion, fun, and a little nostalgia all in one.

Before we leave for Paris, we’re squeezing in one more fantastic meal at Chiltern Firehouse, a spot highly recommended by a friend.

Paris: A Birthday to Remember

After a quick ride on the Eurostar, we’ll arrive in Paris, ready for an evening of French cuisine. Wednesday brings iconic sights like the Arc de Triomphe and exploring the Right Bank—from the Louvre to the Champs-Élysées, with some shopping along the way. We’re also rolling up our sleeves for a hands-on experience at a French baking school.

Thursday is all about Disney magic—we’ll spend the day at Disneyland Paris, where we’ll relive childhood memories and create some new ones.

But Friday? Friday is Paige’s 11th birthday, and we’re pulling out all the stops. The morning starts with sightseeing and shopping on the Left Bank, with stops at Notre Dame and the Musée d’Orsay. And then, the big moment—ear piercing! (a milestone we’ll always remember). That evening, we’ll toast to 11 wonderful years with a birthday dinner at the Eiffel Tower.

One Last Croissant Before Heading Home

We’ll wrap up our trip with a final morning in Paris before catching our flight back home. One thing’s for sure—this will be a trip filled with unforgettable moments, delicious meals, and, most importantly, quality time together.
