Since becoming OBA locals, one thing is certain: you all have LOTS of opinions about where we should eat—and we’ve been listening!
We’ve been working our way through your recommendations, finding favorites of our own and building an ever-growing “next up” list. From restaurants we can reach by boat or golf cart to date-night dinners, breakfast spots and fresh seafood to cook at home, here’s where we’re loving eating in and around Orange Beach so far.
BY BOAT… OR GOLF CART
One of the best parts of living in Orange Beach is that sometimes getting to the restaurant is half the fun and the atmosphere on the water.
Tiki & Raw Bar
Tiki & Raw Bar is one of our favorite stops for a fun outdoor vibe and pretty good food! The waterfront views are great, and the Poke Tuna Nachos are a must. We also love their fish sandwiches. It’s exactly the kind of casual spot you want after a day on the water.
Avenue Pub
Another easy boat stop is Avenue Pub Orange Beach. Come for the waterfront views and stay for a Blond Bushwacker—one of our favorites!
Flora-Bama Yacht Club
Across the street from the legendary Flora-Bama, Flora-Bama Yacht Club is another fun waterfront stop. Our pick here is easy: the crab claws! Pulling up by boat makes it even better, but not the best stop to go by golf cart.
If you want to take a dip in the water while you drink or wait to eat, Avenue Pub and the Yacht Club are where you should head.
OSO at Bear Point
OSO at Bear Point is an easy Bear Point favorite for waterfront food, drinks and that laid-back atmosphere that makes living in OBA so much fun.
Tacky Jacks
Although we don’t love Tacky Jacks for lunch or dinner- the food isn’t that great- it is worth a trip by land or sea for breakfast or brunch when the food is noticeably at its best.
BREAKFAST & BRUNCH
BuzzCatz Coffee & Sweets
We heard you and we listened! BuzzCatz Coffee & Sweets is our breakfast spot favorite so far!
We were also VERY excited to discover that they serve Piper & Leaf Tea. Finding one of our favorite North Alabama brands here at the beach gives us a little taste of home.
Next Up: Brick & Spoon
Brick & Spoon is another one you all have recommended for breakfast and brunch. We haven’t tried it yet, but it’s officially on the list!
And don’t forget Tacky Jacks—breakfast by boat deserves another mention.
LUNCH
Mediterranean Sandwich Co.
When we want something quick and fresh, Mediterranean Sandwich Co. is an easy choice. It’s also a nice break when you’ve already eaten your weight in Gulf seafood for the week! And their door sign makes us laugh 🙂
The Gulf
You can’t beat the setting at The Gulf. The open-air, waterfront atmosphere makes a casual lunch feel a little like vacation—even when you live here.
COASTAL
We also love this spot for getting some good food, gulf views and some actual work done! We worked here on Monday this week over a nice lunch.
FINE DINING & DATE NIGHT
Jesse’s on the Bay
For a special occasion—or simply when we want some of the best food paired with a beautiful atmosphere—Jesse’s on the Bay is our pick. It is truly our favorite place here. The Fort Morgan location overlooking Mobile Bay makes it feel like a destination, especially around sunset.
On Our List: Voyagers
We keep hearing that we need to try Voyagers at Perdido Beach Resort. We haven’t made it there yet, so we can’t give you our review—but based on your recommendations, it’s high on our next-up list!
SOMETIMES THE BEST MEAL IS AT HOME
For all the great restaurants around OBA, we’re discovering that some of the best meals may be the ones we catch and cook ourselves, or at least rely on the best local places as sources for the best food!
We love stopping by The Meat Mart to pick up great steaks, meats and seafood to throw on the grill at home.
And this week we’re excited to venture over to Pensacola and finally make a trip to Joe Patti’s Seafood. Fresh seafood right off the dock? Yes, please! We spotted Gulf shrimp advertised for $3.99 a pound, so we’re already thinking about what we’ll be cooking when we get home.
Steaks, Gulf shrimp, oysters, crab, fresh fish and dinner at home with family and friends—that may be one of our favorite ways to eat like a local.
